Wireless setup

1. Disable Intel PRO Set Wireless Management

    Right click your Intel PROSet/Wireless icon (green color)
    Click "Use Window to Manage Wifi"
    

    Click "Yes"
    

2. Run Window Wireless Management
 

    Double click the icon (normally at the bottom right of your desktop)
    

    Click "View Wireless Network" button
    

    Then choose SSID iium-registration (for first time user)
            OR
    Choose "IIUM Community" for registered user
    

    Then you will be redirected to IIUM Wireless Captive Portal

    Key-in your ID and Password
                    Staff - IIUM email or IIUM Portal id / password
                    Student - Student PIN / password

    You will be redirected to Installation Guides page.

 

3. Download Configuration File

    All IIUM Community (Staff and Student) must download these configuration files
    before they can be authenticated to the IIUM internet connection. You might face
    authentication problem if you don't install these files.
    Read the installation guidelines before you run the configuration file

   
    Install PEAP-GTC and click 'RUN'    
    a. PEAP-GTC Config (for Win2000/WinXP)
    b. PEAP VISTA Config (for vista only)

•    Tips: You will be asked to restart your laptop. Select NO. Then proceed for next step.
   

   Install IIUM Wifi Config
   a. IIUM Wifi Config

•    After save the file, then RESTART your PC
•    After restart process, find the config file that you have saved previously
     Double-click the UIA-wificfg icon

Click on the pop-up balloon.

 

• Enter your username and password

       Student : - user name: <matric number> password: <your pasword>)
       Staff :- user name: <IIUM email login> password: <your pasword>)

  Leave the logon domain blank.
  These configuration files will be installed automatically to your laptop.
